We meet the unexpected everytime we fall asleep.

Most of my artistic explorations are exactly that, explorations. I am looking to find new areas of imagination, new media, and new scales. My work has largely been based upon an internal dialectic between an impulse, the random thought or dream, and the rational reaction that manifests as an artifact that is completely surprising to me when it is finished. I consider myself a modern surrealist and I find the process of operating on an autonomic plane of perception while simultaneously nudging the productive direction to avoid collision or disaster to be an entertaining and fulfilling process. Recent trends with artificial intelligence have given the automatic drawing techniques of the early surrealists a new life. I want to find a new definition of creativity in an era where our brush can paint better than we can.
